Free Crochet Sunflower Keychain Pattern: Bring Sunshine Everywhere You Go!

Hello, fellow crochet enthusiasts! Today, I'm excited to share with you a free crochet pattern for a charming sunflower keychain. This delightful floral accessory is not only a fun and quick project but also a great way to add a touch of sunshine to your everyday items.

Ad-Free Crochet Sunflower Keychain Pattern:


  • Yarn: [weight: medium (4) 100% acrylic] (any comparable yarn will work just as well):

    • Green

    • Brown

    • Yellow

  • Hook: 2.50 mm

  • Polyester fiberfill

  • Scissors

  • Tapestry needle

  • Stitch marker

  • Keychain supplies


  • R - row/round

  • MR - magic ring

  • sc - single crochet

  • inc - increase

  • hdc - half double crochet

  • dc - double crochet

  • tr - treble crochet

  • ch - chain

  • sl st - slip stitch

  • FO - finish off


Pattern is worked in continuous rounds.

Pattern written in U.S. terminology.

I place my marker on the last stitch of the round.

Finished size: 3" wide, petal to petal.

Let's begin!


With green, ch 10. Sc, hdc, 2 dc, tr, 2 tr, tr, 2 dc, hdc, (sc, ch 1, sc) in last stitch. Turn, hdc, 2 dc, tr, 2 tr, tr, 2 dc, hdc, sc, sl st, ch 1. Sl st down the middle. Ch 6, FO. 

Sunflower Base (2)

Make one in brown and one in green.

R1: MR6

R2: inc - 12

R3: 1 sc, inc - 18

R4: 2 sc, inc - 24, FO.

Flower Petals

Place brown base over green base with right side facing you. Attach yellow yarn and crochet through both brown and green base.

Ch 2. (DC, ch1, TR, ch1, DC) in the same stitch. Ch 2, sl st in next stitch. Repeat for a total of 12 petals. 

Stuff with polyester fiberfill before completing the final 2 petals. FO.


Attach keychain ring with a slip stitch or attach with a chain 12 through the ring. Attach the leaf as well.
